What is Help Me Grow?

Help Me Grow Merced County (HMG) is a community-based initiative dedicated to supporting the healthy development and well-being of young children birth to 5 and their families. As part of a statewide and national network, HMG connects families with the resources, services, and support they need to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Through a coordinated system of care, Help Me Grow conducts developmental screenings, links families to early intervention services, Central Valley Regional Center services, health care providers, and local community programs. The organization works closely with local partners including healthcare providers, Merced County School Districts and offices of Education, and social service agencies to identify needs early and provide timely support.

HMG Merced County is committed to strengthening families, promoting early childhood development, and building a more connected and responsive community for all children from prenatal stages through early childhood.

The Importance of Early Screening

The earlier a developmental or behavioral concern is identified, the greater the chance a child has for reaching his or her full potential in life. When you can accurately identify developmental or behavioral issues, you pave the way for next steps: assessment, specialized intervention or ongoing monitoring, to help children reach their fullest potential during their most formative early years.
